The Swaziland Government and civil servants’ representatives yesterday reached a deadlock during the salary adjustment negotiations held in Mbabane. While government officially announced to the workers’ leaders that there would not be cost of living adjustment this year, the civil servants demanded a 4.5 percent increment, the Swazi Observer reports.
As a result of the meeting, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) has resolved to call an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held tomorrow (21 May 2011) at its Manzini offices, starting at 9:00am.
The National Public Service and Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU) will also be meeting.
