WEDDING IS OVER, PROTEST GOES ON

The wedding may be over, but the protest is not.

A new protest is planned for tomorrow (30 April 2011) at 6.30pm at the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane, London, where King Mswati is booked to hold a reception.

King Mswati is trying to drum up trade while he is in London. Yesterday, he met with potential investors, but only a handful of people turned up.

Commenting on the meeting, Oxford Analytica said, 'Following a 60 percent decline in government revenues, and the growing reluctance of bilateral and multilateral donors to provide additional support, Mswati is casting around urgently for alternative sources of finance. Although he has seen off the recent bout of pro-democracy protests, the legitimacy of his and his family's rule has been eroded.'

KING’S PLANE HIRE TO COST $3.5 million

The plane King Mswati III chartered for his trip from Swaziland to London for the Royal Wedding cost the Swazi Government US$700 000 (R4,7-million), it is revealed today (29 April 2011).
Southern Africa Report says the government ‘this month sought, and received, an estimate from Dubai-based aviation charter company Royal Jet for the trip rental of a 46-seater Boeing Business Jet that comes complete with double bedroom.

‘The quote from Royal Jet was that the charter of their plane will cost the government $700,000 (R4,7-million) per trip. Mbabane apparently considered this something of a bargain, since they’d previously paid US$900, 000 (R6-million) for such trips.

‘Mswati plans to use the charter five times this year alone – three times to Europe and twice to the Far East – at a cumulative cost of $3, 5-million (R23,5-million).’

WHO WAS THAT LADY I SAW YOU WITH?

Who was that lady I saw you with last night? The caption writer for this photo of King Mswati III at the ‘Pre-Royal Wedding’ dinner last night (28 April 2011) didn’t know.

The caption read, ‘Here’s Mswati III, the King of Swaziland arrived with a guest who wore an embroidered gold gown with an unusual cut-out neckline.’

So who was that woman (serious question) is she one of the wives?

UPDATE:

I’m told the lady in question is is Inkhosikati LaMahlangu [Zena Soraya Mahlangu], born 1984 – one of the king’s 13 wives. I’ll leave it to your imagination as to why he chose to take her to the wedding above all the others.
