DEMOCRACY SUPPORTERS DEPORTED

All foreigners arrested at the seminar for democracy in Swaziland have been deported.

The People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) says that the workers’ leaders who had been in the kingdom to support the Global Day of Action for democracy tomorrow (7 September 2010) and other activities this week, were driven by police to the Swaziland – South Africa border.

Meanwhile, the Swazi workers who were detained by police earlier today have all been released.

PUDEMO said in a statement, ‘the protest action planned for Tuesday and Wednesday is still on’.
