SWAZILAND ACTION: THE DETAILS

With so much happening during the recent Global Week of Action on Swaziland democracy, it has been difficult to keep track of all events.

To help, the Swaziland Democracy Campaign, (SDC), which was at the centre of the activities, has issued a brief update on events leading up to and during the two protest marches of 7 and 8 September 2010.

SDC concludes that the action was ‘a huge success’ and that (among other things) ‘it has highlighted yet again the state’s intolerance toward dissent; it has exposed for the entire world to see unprovoked state brutality on peaceful marchers [and] it has exposed the state’s intransigent unwillingness to listen to our genuine grievances.’
