SWAZI KING ORDERED LUTFO SACKING

Lutfo Dlamini, Swaziland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was sacked from his post on the orders of King Mswati III, sub-Saharan Africa’s last absolute monarch.

Yesterday (13 January 2010), he was picked up by Swazi Police and taken to a meeting with Barnabas Dlamini, Swaziland’s illegally-appointed Prime Minister. At that meeting it is believed he was sacked from his post. Phesheya Dlamini, Swaziland’s Ambassador to Kuwait (who was also escorted by police), was at the meeting and it is believed was dismissed from his job.

The Swazi Observer, the newspaper in effect owned and edited by King Mswati, reports today (14 January 2011), that, ‘the two were ordered to be at the PM’s offices by 1pm. It was gathered, the PM, had a special message for the two from higher authorities’.

In Swaziland, the only ‘higher authority’ than the PM is the King.

The Observer claimed to its readers that it did not know the purpose of the meeting, but on Monday I reported that Lutfo Dlamini and Phesheya Dlamini had been accused of stealing money from the Kuwaiti Royal Family that was intended for King Mswati.

Yesterday, the Swaziland Solidarity Network reported that Lutfo Dlamini was spared criminal charges because, ‘his secret lover the queen mother “Ntombi Ftwala” has seen to it that he is well cloaked in the infamous Royal blanket against corruption charges’.
