PRAYERS FOR SWAZI STUDENT LEADERS

Swaziland students have called a mass prayer to support their leaders who have been abducted by police.

The prayer will be held at the Catholic Church in Manzini tomorrow (Friday 12 February 2010).

Secretary General of the Swaziland National Union of Students (SNUS) Thabo Dlamini said the students unanimously agreed in a meeting yesterday that a prayer would come in handy, given the situation they are faced with.

He was uncertain on when the detained students would be released from police custody, but said everyone is already praying for their release.

‘We urge all students to attend the prayer without fail because we have not come to the end of our grievances,’ he said.

He called on high school students to join the mass prayer because the grievances that tertiary students have would soon affect them.
