ILLEGAL SWAZILAND PM CRACKS DOWN

Barnabas Dlamini, Swaziland’s illegally-appointed Prime Minister, has put the kingdom on a high state of terror alert, following a number of petrol bottle attacks on homes.

Dlamini, an internationally-recognised enemy of freedom and democracy, now wants to change laws in Swaziland to stop suspects accused of these attacks from being allowed bail.

Dlamini announced yesterday (9 June 2010) that a ‘crack squad’ has been set up by Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula to deal with what he calls ‘the wave of terror’ and bring the culprits to book.

His move comes as democracy activists in Swaziland are accusing the police of bombing the home of Alex Langwenya, a leader in the pro-democracy movement in the kingdom, ruled by King Mswati III, sub-Saharan Africa’s last absolute monarch.

Dlamini told the House of Assembly, ‘The State’s security apparatus has been put on high alert to ensure that such acts of terror are brought under control and completely eradicated.’

According to the Swazi Observer, the newspaper in effect owned by King Mswati, Dlamini said the police ‘Task Team’ would deal with the terror attacks and will harness all resources.

He said, ‘We are confident that working hand in hand with the entire security apparatus of the nation we shall have positive results. We are confident that arrests would soon be made and a clear message sent to everyone that terrorism in all its forms would not be tolerated.’
