Mario Masuku, the president of Swaziland’s banned People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO), was arrested on his way back from the funeral of democracy activist Sipho Jele, the Swaziland Solidarity Network reports today (Saturday 22 May 2010).

No further details are immediately available.

Masuku is well known to the Swazi police; he was held in prison on remand for 10 months after he was arrested under the Suppression of Terrorism Act. He was immediately acquitted when his case came to court.
