SCHOOL OF BOMBS ‘OBSERVER’ SCARE

A rhetorical question: How much training does it need before you can pour petrol into a bottle and throw it against a wall?

According to the Swazi Observer, secret camps are taking place in Nelspruit, South Africa, to train those responsible for the recent spate of petrol bottle attacks.

Typically for the Observer we get no more details than this. Except that it goes on to say‘the school of bombs’ is part of a strategy and cooperation between banned groups in Swaziland and unnamed organisations in South Africa.

It goes on, ‘Incidentally, sources say, the decision to bomb certain structures in the country [Swaziland] was taken during a meeting in Nelspruit between proscribed entities in Swaziland and certain groups across the border who want regime change in Swaziland.’

Or put another way, according to the Observer, the newspaper in effect owned by King Mswati III, sub-Saharan Africa’s last absolute monarch, outside forces are responsible for much of the pro-democracy campaigning taking place in Swaziland at present. Not true of course. The desire for democracy is deep rooted among Swazis and no amount of misinformation from the Observer can change that fact.
